Dirk, the EAC Common Market in summary means free movement of goods, services and persons. Can the EAC Common Market be compared to the EU's single market? Not quite, because the EAC's is much younger, and single markets are processes. Things get refined as we move along, not in one event. Your question on vehicle imports doesn't provide the full details of your experience, but the 2-week time limit for temporary importation you were granted does indeed conform to EAC standards.

Dear EAC,

what exactly does EAC's common market mean? Can ut be compared to the EU's market?

Just think about Rwanda's strict vehicle import rules. The temporary allowance is 2 weeks. Is this conform to EAC?

thanks

Dear Apollinaire, kindly note that as of 17 March 2010, Burundians are not required to pay for visas to enter Tanzanian territory. You may visit the EAC Tourism/Travel website (http://www.eac.int/travel) for details

Dear Sir,

I'm a Kenyan who has been following the intergration process with a lot of anxiety, but it fails short of our expectations.
1.Please explain will the bordes still exist,i draw your attention to the European Union where they have no borders especially the E.U members.
2. Will the customs union have single entry points i.e if a Ugandan/Rwandan imports something and it passes through Mombasa will that Ugandan be forced to execute a transit bond or will he pay all duties at Mombasa since he is already an East African citizen and it is deemed that we are one community.
Rgds
