37th Meeting of the Sectoral Council on Cooperation in Defence Affairs underway in Arusha, Tanzania

East African Community Headquarters, Arusha, Tanzania, 6^th March, 2024: The 37th Meeting of the Sectoral Council on Cooperation in Defence Affairs is currently underway at the EAC Headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.

The five-day meeting started with the Session of the Defence Experts Working Group on Operations and Training on 4^th – 5^th March, 2024; Session of the Sectoral Committee on Cooperation in Defence today Wednesday, 6^th March, 2024; Session of the Consultative Committee on Cooperation in Defence is slated Thursday, 7^th  March, 2024 while Session of the Sectoral Council on Co-operation in Defence Affairs will be held on Friday on 8^th  March, 2024.

Among the items on the agenda  are the considerations of the; Report of  the  13^th  EAC Armed Forces CPX USHIRIKIANO IMARA 2023; Report of the Initial Planning Conference for the 13^th  EAC Armed Forces FTX USHIRIKIANO IMARA 2024 and  Report of the EAC Commandants of Military Academies.

Other items on the agenda are the Reports of the Multi-agency Experts Working Group on review of EAC SOP’s and refine EAC guidelines for the planning and conduct of EAC Armed Forces CPX and FTX.
