EAC Sectoral Council on Trade, Industry, Finance and Investment underway in Arusha

East African Community Headquarters, Arusha, Tanzania, 27^th May, 2019: A five-day East African Community Sectoral Council on Trade, Industry, Finance and Investment (SCTIFI) meeting is currently underway at the EAC Headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.

The SCTIFI meeting started today with the Session of Senior Officials which runs from 27^th to 29^thMay, 2019 followed by the Coordination Committee (Session of Permanent/Principal/Under Secretaries) on 30^thMay, 2019 and the Ministers Session on 31^stMay, 2019.

Among the items on the agenda of the SCTIFI Meeting are: Consideration of the status of implementation of the previous directives/decisions of SCTIFI held in November 2018; Consideration of outstanding matters arising from the Pre-budget meeting of May 2018; Report of the Committee on Customs, and; Report of the Sectoral Committee on Trade.

Other items are: Report of the East African Standards Committee (EASC) and East African Accreditation Board (EAAB); Report of the Committee on Investment; Report on EAC Competition Authority Activities, and; Any other business.
