East African Court of Justice. Kampala, Uganda, 1st November, 2022: The East African Court of Justice (EACJ) is set to begin its November – December 2022 Sessions at the Commercial Court premises in Kampala, Uganda.
The EACJ sessions were preceded by the 2nd Annual EACJ Judicial Conference held from 26th to 28th October, 2022 in Kampala. During this session, both First Instance and Appellate Divisions will handle a total of 39 cases.
East African Court of Justice, Arusha, Tanzania, 28th October, 2022: Increased intra-regional and inter-continental trade and integration are the pathways to socio-economic transformation and economic prosperity in East Africa and the African continent, Uganda President Yoweri Museveni has said.
President Museveni singled out universal education and a business mindset as the factors that will stimulate rapid economic transformation within the East African Community (EAC) and the rest of the African continent.
East African Court of Justice, Arusha, Tanzania, 26th October, 2022: The 2nd Annual East African Court of Justice (EACJ) Judicial Conference kicked off on Wednesday in Kampala, Uganda with speakers calling for increased access to justice in the East African region and beyond.
Speaking when she officially opened the three-day conference, Uganda’s 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community (EAC) Affairs, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, hailed the EACJ saying that the Couurt has since its inception done a commendable job in passing judgements that have impacted Human rights jurisprudence within the region and beyond as well as strengthening the Community.
East African Community Headquarters, Arusha, Tanzania, 26th October, 2022:The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud urged the East African Community to fast-track his country’s admission into the Community.
The president said Somalia joining the Community has been a delayed dream for the people and the Government of Somalia and urged the Secretary General, Hon. (Dr.) Peter Mathuki, to expedite the process of admission so that his country can be the 8th member of the EAC.
East African Court of Justice, Arusha, Tanzania, 25th October, 2022: The Judge President of the East African Court of Justice, His Lordship Justice Nestor Kayobera, has called for the granting of administrative and financial independence to the Court to enable it execute its mandate more effectively.
Justice Kayobera said that granting the Court administrative and financial would uphold the independence of the regional judicial body as it arbitrates in civil disputes and delivery of justice.
East African Community Secretariat; Arusha, Tanzania, 24th October, 2022: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has hailed the East African Community( EAC) for the steady progress it has made towards the establishment of the East African Monetary Union.
The statement came on the sidelines of meetings between EAC and IMF held during the Annual Meeting of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, DC, United State of America.

Burundi’s Minister for Trade, Transport, Industry and Tourism, Madame Marie Chantal Nijimbere, made the announcement when she met the Registrar of the East African Community Competition Authority (EACA), Ms. Lilian Mukoronia, in Bujumbura, Burundi.
East African Community Headquarters, Arusha, 20th October, 2022: Preparations for the 22nd Edition of the East African Community (EAC) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Trade Fair, popularly known as the Jua Kali/Nguvu Kazi Exhibition, are in high gear.
The 22nd edition of the annual EAC Jua Kali/Nguvu Kazi Exhibition, which will be held under the theme “Buy East African to Build East Africa for Resilience and Sustainable Development,” is expected to attract more than 1,000 artisans from all the seven (7) EAC Partner States.

The conference organized by the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat and the EAC Partner States is expected to attract more than 1,000 participants.
