NCPR Capacity Building Programme
This programme’s primary objective is to build capacities and develop skills enhancement programmes in the area of peace and security and other core areas to give policymakers, technocrats and practitioners from the EAC Partner States and RECs the skills to prevent and respond to existing and emerging security challenges in the region.
The programme’s other objective is to deepen knowledge about East Africa's crises, draw attention to them, and contribute to the enhancement of institutional capacities in peace and security. In this regard, NCPR works closely with all EAC Organs and Institutions, RECs, sub‐regional and regional organisations and institutions of higher learning and research as well as Civil Society Organisations to explore policy options for capacity building in sustainable peace, stability, and development and also develop and implement training programmes to enhance capacities in promoting regional peace.
Given the evolving dynamics of political and economic situations in our society, there is need for continuous and systematic training. These training programmes cover a wide range of areas. Participants to these training programmes are drawn from diverse backgrounds, such as defense and security, diplomacy and international relations, conflict management immigration, disaster management and human rights.
