42nd Extra-Ordinary Meeting of the EAC Council of Ministers to take place virtually, 6th - 7th May

East African Community Headquarters, Arusha, 5th May, 2021: 42nd Extra-ordinary meeting of the EAC Council of Ministers is expected to take place from 6th - 7th May, 2021 via virtual means.

The two-day meeting will start with the session of Senior Officials and session of the Coordination Committee (Permanent /Principal/Under Secretaries) on Thursday 6th May, 2021 while the Ministerial Session will be held on Friday 7th May, 2021.

EAC Partner States urged to fast-track the formation of the porposed EAC Political Federation

East African Community Secretariat, Arusha, Tanzania, 3rd May, 2021: East African Community Partner States have been urged to expedite the formation of the proposed Political Confederation for the region.  

Uganda’s Acting Chief Justice Richard Butera said that East Africans had always lived together and would not wait for the Partner States to establish the confederation in order to continue with their interactions, adding that the citizens were well ahead of their national governments in as far as the integration process was concerned.

EAC Secretary General calls for team work among staff of the EAC Organs and Institutions

East African Community Secretariat, Arusha, Tanzania, 28th April, 2021: The East African Community (EAC) Secretary General, Hon. Dr. Peter Mathuki has called upon the staff of the EAC Organs and Institutions to work together as a team in the interest of achieving big results that will further propel the EAC integration agenda.

“I am convinced that all of us here have the united purpose to facilitate the implementation of all agreed projects and programmes in an effort to advance the lives of the citizenry in the Community,” said Dr. Mathuki.

Delivering the remarks during his inaugural meeting with the staff of the EAC Organs and Institutions, Dr. Mathuki urged the staff to put aside their differences and work together towards reviving the Community’s vision as envisioned by the founding fathers and expected by the citizenry.
